The technician Dell sent to repair my computer didn't solve the problem and left scratches and loose plastics here and there

He wasn't able to fix the problem and said he would come back the following day, but I don't want he to repair it again as I've had bad experiences with him before too, everytime he does his job leaves scratches on the chasis and loosely attached pieces. This drives me mad Should I tell Dell to send another technician? I live in a rural zone and there must not be many technicians over here , cause in case of having a problem with my laptop Dell sends the same unskilled person all the time.

I had a similar experience earlier this year - and when this happened to me - apart from damaging the keyboard surround, dropping a screw near the motherboard and shaking the laptop like crazy for a few minutes to get it out, he also didn't finish the job (was supposed to leave me with a perfect installation of windows). As part of their support contract, Dell should pay customers for their time when they waste it due to non performance of their duties.

I had even worse experiences following this up by telephone where the technician insisted on installing drivers for hardware devices (WWAN cards) that weren't in my system at all, and then their level 2 technician didn't call me at all despite scheduling a call.

The consensus on these forums seems to be avoid consumer grade PCs and support.

    pterodactilo,

I'm sorry that you had this negative experience and that the technician did not resolve your issue. I am escalating your issue to our dell cares team who will try to help you. Please PM me your service tag and contact info so that I may pass it on to them.

    Thank you,
    Mourin@Dell

Dell doesn't have any technicians there is at least one company called Unisys does the onsite service for Dell. If you are in a rural area it's possible that Unisys or the other companies that Dell contracts with are further outsourcing their service to other companies who in turn send the work willy-nilly to someone working 1099 with a pulse.

I just tell Dell to send me the parts and I will install them myself. It works out better as I am a repair tech and scratching stuff is not in my game plan.
