Well I got my 1520 today and I just love it! The only thing is that the recovery utility is on a partition and not a disc like they used to do. So I was wondering if I reinstall vista, can I put it on a disc myself or do I have to keep the partition? Any way I can get a disc?

Your notebook didn't ship with ANY recovery disc? No "Dell Windows Installation Disc"? This is extremely odd..
I believe you can call dell (like i did with an old HP that had recovery on the drive) and say you want some sort of recovery DISC. If not, you can download Windows Vista Home basic/premium. Since you have a licensed key, you are allowed to download the software for free without breaking any pirating laws. -
Nope, Im not too happy with this because every thread I have read had stated they recieved one.

Yeah, call them and tell them you want the disc.
Like I said, you can LEGALLY download vista and burn your own backup since you legally own a license to the product. -
Do you know where I can get the download to make my recov disk?
Thinking about reformatting...
