Thinking about reordering a Vostro

So I ordered a Jet black, and it's been delayed twice already. I'm considering ordering a Vostro, since I can get it with the intel processor I want<4MB cache FTW> , and a MUCH better video card<256mb NVIDIA GForce 8600 M GT> According to the website, the machine that i have specced has an ESD of 09/06.
Is anyone experiencing shipping issues with the vostros?

 

Ok, first there is a chance that the unit will be shipped eralier, because my sister got her's a week early, my friend also got it a week early but also u may wanna ask Dell on the phone if u switch the colors will it ship faster.

 

well, I ordered my inspiron in Black<which was supposed to have no delays.> and like i said, if i'm gonna wait, i'd rather wait for a better machine.

Also, I just talked to a Dell Rep who said I would need a federal Tax ID number to order a vostro. I'm looking at the website, and i'm at the point where i can enter my credit card info.

Was this woman just full of crap?

I ordered my Vostro without any requirement for proof of a business, i even got home premium Just ring different rep.

 

i cancelled my black and got a vostro, in less than 15 hrs it was in boxing while my inspiron was still in build.... should get it tues or wed.

does this seem to be the trend, i can't tell from the forums... I will gladly cancel my order if I can get a better machine. hell, i'd almost wait a week or two.

 

if mine gets delayed at all im either re-ordering a vostro or im done with dell altogether. i had 3 vostros ship and not one of them took more than 10 days

 

the dell rep i spoke with said vostros are being made practically the same day they are ordered. all the rest are backed up due to a large order for sams club and wallmart

 

Just ordered a 1700 vostro for my daughter...its already in testing! esd 9/10
from order date 8/31. So looks like they are flying thru versus my 1721 red which is still at the Dell factory since 7/23.
