    i was wondering what i could get about for my old laptop.

    i got it this past January for about 1800 ish.

    dell e1705
    1 gig 667 ram
    80 gig 7200rpm HD
    1440x900 Screen
    7900GSX
    Dell wireless
    Bluetooth
    2 years CC warranty


    Can i get somewhere around 1,000?

    Yeah maybe a little less the ram and the harddrive are not very high. Yeah about there minus $100.

    ouch... one year and the price is already half ? i think ill wait till my laptop is 3-4 years old to sell it for 300... at least then it will have served its time..

    You can buy a New 1720 with a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo,2GB RAM, nVidia 8600GT and 250GB HDD for little over $1000 with a good coupon. Therefore I don’t think you can get $1000 for the older E1705. 7900GS is only slightly faster than 8600GT under DX9, but in DX10 8600GT should do better.

    Maybe somewhere around $750~$800 is my guess (given the low RAM and HDD).. BTW what is the processor ? If it is not a Dual Core, then the value drops even more.

    Yeah, there are many deals to be had out there. My guess is you'll be lucky to get $700 for it. Sorry, that's just the way it is with used laptops....

    the reason im thinking of selling is because i just bought a m1330 and would like to sell my e1705 and build a nice gaming laptop for about 1200 which i should be able to configure a pretty good rig hopefully.

    the 1705 does kick some ass in tho.
