That looks like a great deal to me, but damn, that screen would wreck my eyes! My MBP has 1400x900; I can't imagine using so high a resolution on so small a screen. FWIW, I have 23" and 24" monitors with 1920x1200 resolution and they seem fine to me.

Pretty decent deal. If this helps you decide, I got mine for $1100 shipped; the only difference is the 6-cell battery, cpu, hard drive, and non-bluetooth.

I am happy with the WUXGA monitor. :)

It's part of Dell's 10 Days of Deals. The system in my signature is from that 10 Days of Deals too.

in terms of money saver its good (~33% off). But you have to ask yourself whether a WUXGA+ (or anything else) is something you really want. You can customize exactly what you want and use a 25% off coupon instead.

If you use the 25% coupon you can get pretty much the same system, except with a LED screen, for $40 than the deal in this topic would be if you upgraded it to a LED screen.

Does anyone here actually have this laptop with the 1920 x 1200 resolution to give their input? 15.4 inch as the size of course.

Seems like Dell wants to get rid of stuff not selling well and gives you the worst options like a very large but slow 5400 rpm drive, a screen where you can't read the names of the files in order to open them.

I would personally use the 25% coupon and get LED, 7200 rpm, T8300 and come out same price for better product. Good Luck :)

    I thought the 320GB 5400 was comparable to a 200 or 250GB 7200 drive.

thanks shinta13, let me know how it is :D.

Also is the LED LCD screen really worth the 200 extra zebo? you said you would personally get that screen so i was curious what the benifits are.

Not sure how a large hard drive with speeds comparable to smaller HDDs with higher rpms is a "worst option."

I rather have the 320gb 5400rpm then the 160gb 7200rpm simply becuase I will use all of the space & 7200rpm will get much hotter.

Not if you need the space and the "better performance" doesn't really exist at drives of this size anyway.

actually i passed on this deal, i do believe it will cause eye strain and will be hard to read items unless you are close to the screen. I also noticed dell is continously having deals indicating they want to get rid of this crap!. Their new laptops are coming out in the next to 3-5 weeks and i will buy then. Either get this cheaper or get a better one for the same price.
