That is, unless of course you need one right now.

The deals they keep offering are just terrible. The current coupon for the Vostro 1400 is roughly the same price for half the memory (RAM and HD) that that they were offering on the same model about three weeks ago.

Actually the 1400 and 1500 that there offering $599 are not that bad. There only $50 more than the cheapest I've seen for them, though they lack the 160 GB HDD and 9 cell battery that the $549 had at the time. Plus there was a 10% off on models over $1199 that stacked (this was counting the whole price, so with the instant saving it was really only over like $700). But all in all there not that bad. I bet after Christmas they lower them again.

I don't know, I thought that what I paid for my 1520 was a pretty stellar deal.

So u're saying they'll have more discount after Christmas?
I wanna know a good time for me to buy my inspiron 1720.
Also are there any other good discount times?
If I can wait for those then I just might.

Waiting for Vostro 1400 with X3100 deal, there isn't a single coupon out there. :( I am considered the $599 deal, but I just don't know how long can I get away from the plugs, if I decide to go with 8400GS. If I do buy now I am willing to pay $19 extra and get both 6 cell and 9 cell. I just can't decide. Should I wait for better deal with X3100 or just go with $599 special right now.

The week after I bought my 1720 (at the end of September) the prices seemed to jump considerably. Since then, to configure one with the same specs has been at least $300 more.

Maybe they are having to cover the costs from replacing so many screens! ;)

The deals they are offering on the XPS systems are really good .. probably makes anyone who bought a couple months ago feel bad though....

They've dropped price on the M1330 by about $400 since launch I think..

The current models seem to have half the RAM and hard-drive space available, or lack the 9-cell option, all of which (2 gigs RAM, 160 gig HD, 9-cell) were available for $549 last month.

I don't know what will happen after Christmas, but I'm guessing we'll see new models out around February.

Well, the new Inspiron coupons offer less for your money than coupons from almost 5 weeks ago did....

Two weeks before Thanksgiving you could get $500 off $1399+ and a $150 gift card. One week before Thanksgiving it was dropped to $400 off $1299+ and a $150 gift card. Around/after Thanksgiving it was dropped again to $300 off $1199+ and a $150 gift card.

Each time you could configure a pretty sweet system (T7500, 8600M, 120G HD). You just lost the extras if you didn't get the better deals.
