If its a build to order it will take some time, For US customers it gets built over seas, Malaysia I believe, then it gets shipped to Tennessee, then it makes its way towards your direction, it will probably arrive a little sooner, but ya never know, all sorts of factors in play, from availability of parts to general logistics.

Congrats, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

    hey guys,

I was wondering if I can run a stick of 667mhz ram and a stick of 533mhz ram?

does it matter if it operates at diff frequencies?

    thanks

I think you can add it later, not positive though. Yes you can mix 533 and 667, they will both default to 533.

It would have to have been a prebuilt unit then, or they had a cancelled order with your exact specs roll out about the time you ordered. Either way, the sooner the better I always say.

it was probably MY cancelled unit lol.

I canceled with the exact same specs about 3 days before I ordered this. I canceled because the lady I ordered from first was a lying little fox. I then ordered the same (well, similar) system through the EPP program.

and i actually checked, It took 6 days. I ordered on the 1st, and it'll arrive tomorrow. Not bad considering the weekend.

    :D

I'm going to be very anal when checking out the system though. If there is any dead pixels or loose fittings or light leakage, I'm going to get it replaced immediately by the 24 hour on site technician. :D

i havent even gotten it yet. It comes tomorrow.

but from bench marks, The average for the GO 7400 is around 2020 while the average for the X1400 was around 1850-1900. So I'd say the GO 7400 is at least on par if not a tad bit better than the X1400.

I hope that helps. I'll give a review on the weekend after I get my notebook.

ninja edit - On my X1400 on my E1505, I got 1950ish which was a tad bit higher than usual. Most I've known received around high 1800's and low 1900's.

Yes you can add complete care later. I just did mine some 7 months after purchase.

Also, it only took 8 days from order to door when I got my laptop.

lol actually... she did mention her husband too frequently.

It was a mixture of lies and pushiness. She told me there was no such thing as military/student discounts. Which is a lie. I found out that going through EPP (which is a completely different division from hers) that I would have saved %12 for being a student. The reason she didn't tell me this is because of the fact that she'd lose a customer to EPP which would result in her losing commission.

She was very pushy and acted like I was ignorant to computers. I might act like it on the forums, but I know my fair share about computers. She told that she was giving it to me for the price that it costs to build it. I'm not a dumbass, and it really tingles my nerves when I'm treated as such. I'm a nice guy, but don't mix kindness with weakness.

So basically, I ordered it, and I knew I was going to review it and see if I can get a better deal in the end. If she was a nice lady, I wouldn't have mind paying an extra 100 or two. But with my experience with her, and finding out about EPP, the choice was clear in what to do.

    Ninja edit -

another thing she lied about was the free next business day delivery. She told me she was going to give me free NBD if it meant sealing the deal. I agreed. On my bill review, I noticed that not only I was not going to be given free NBD, but I would be CHARGED 19.99 for 3-5 business day ground delivery. Even that was free as a promotion at the time of the sale.

Seen similar systems in Dell outlet for ~$1000-1100, not including the 4 year warranty which probably cost around $300.

yeap, so I figured I'd pay the extra 500 for 4 year warranty and complete care and the brand new factor. Is it worth it? probably not. But life's too short for regrets.

if I kept worrying about getting a better deal it's going to drive me nuts.

    isn't that right Mr. Iceman?

As long as I'm satisfied with the end product, its all good in my hood. Are you getting it with vista preloaded? XP would be the way to go for now if you have that option, I havent run vista on my m1210 yet, I'm using my desktop as a guinea pig, and its far from ready, especially Nvidia drivers, dont stray from Dells official drivers just yet. I think they are based on the 97.46's the latest WHQL driver. I'm currently running the beta 100.54's which are very stable for me and offer decent performance though missing a lot of CP options, the 5.9's are newer and offer a few more features, but are riddled with bugs, random crashes, major graphical errors, corrupted screen on resume from sleep, poor HD video playback, if you do decide to stray from dells officaial drivers, go to laptopvideo2go.com and prowl around their forums, the gaming forum here will also have some good info.
