I'm looking at a dell studio laptop, it's in my cart, just looking for any opinions on whether it's a good deal or not. Price is $899 plus tax. Thanks.

    Studio 15 Laptop
    Intel® Core™ i7-720QM
    4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
15.6” High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife™ and Camera
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
    320GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
56 Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell)
    1 year warranty.

Also, any current issues with this laptop? Thanks.

If you tolerate the Heat issue then nice configuration.......
only replace your display with full HD.

Thanks for the info on the heat issue, i'll look elsewhere. I was going to buy the XPS 16 with i5 that Dell had for $999 but it seems to have gone. I'll keep looking.

Hi guy, I have similar question. What about this combination:
    Studio 15 Laptop
    4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
15.6” Gull HD (1080p) WLED Display with TrueLife™
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
    500GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
    9 cell Lithium Ion Battery
    3 year warranty complete cover.

I have the option of processors:
    Intel® Core™ i3-350M
    Intel® Core™ i5-430M
    Intel® Core™ i5-520M
    Intel® Core™ i5-540M

Which one is better, in order to reduce heating and maximise performance. First of all should I go for Dell studio or not? If yues then which procssor is the right choice?

Go for the i5-540M if you can. I always say buy the fastest processor available because it will be outdated in 6-9 months. Plus, it will make your purchase last that much longer.

Out of curiosity, what country is this as the i5-520M seems to be the highest option for USA customers on the Studio 15.

I would choose the studio xps 16 over these studio 15s. (Yes, I do own one)

The Core i5 line for the Studio 15 does not suffer from the same heat issues as the Core i7 (quad) line. Different manufacturing process and smaller chips.
