    Hey guys,

I'm referring to the Dellienware M17x. I wanted to post this here because I will be purchasing this laptop from Dell Canada.

I was wondering if you guys could tell me how I can save money. I am aware of the EPP 7% discount. IS there any other discount that I could get?

I bought a m15x last year and sent it back since it was defective, I was offered a 5% discount on my next alienware purchase. I called Dell Canada's sales reps and they don't know anything about applying a credit from Alienware.

I sent the email with 5% discount to 5 different reps and they all said that they would send it to their managers and get back to me ASAP. well none of them have gotten back to me.

Is there anyway I could skip the sales reps and talk to someone higher up? Like a supervisor or a manager who can approve this 5% discount? (Any Ph# I could call?)

If I do end up getting the 5% discount combined with 7% EPP I will have 12% discount. (OR I will have 10%, One of the reps said that they only offer 5% EPP on alienware laptops, I didn't know this)

Is there any other place I could save some money? Get some more discount? I know that you have to get 3YR warranty to get 12% EPP, is there anyway around it? To be able to get 12% EPP without getting the 3Yr warranty? Or Can I get the Warranty to get 12% EPP then cancel the warranty? I know this seems highly unlikely but does it have potential of working?

I would really appreciate any tips/suggestions
    thanks

When calling Dell, try telling the rep you'd like to speak to a supervisor. Generally the rep will oblige, and there will be one with you shortly.

I have asked to speak to a supervisor before but they ask me why I want to speak to a supervisor. Then I explain about the alienwares discount in the email, and they reply by asking me to forward the email to them (csr) and that they will forward it to their manger

3,700? I know your in canada but.... crikey.

What was your config and why did you choose dell?

How are other brands priced, sager etc?

I never have been a fan of alienwares personally though.

I'm not a devoted fan of alienware. I'll go where ever I can get my money's worth. The reason I am going with alienware is because I had purchased a m15x from them last year which I returned to them a year later because it was defective.

They gave me a 5% discount on my next purchase. now I know I want to get a high end laptop, Sager/Clevo don't usually give 5% extra discount on their systems, plus I can get 7% epp discount. So if I spend $4,200 I can save roughly $500 with 12% discount.

That is why I created this thread, I wanted to know if there were any other ways I could get even lower price.

I wanted to get 12% EPP without buying 3Yr warranty. Is it possible? Is there anyway around it, like purchase the warranty then cancel it within 15 or 30 days?

Use EPP and max your warranty for a higher % off.

I would also generated a phone quote (you'll also receive a copy of the quote via email) and get a quote # (ask them to give you the best price possible). Thank them for their time and then wait a day or two and call back. Give the new rep your quote# and ask them to pull it up. Tell them you want to change a minor detail (RAM or HDD size) and ask them for a new $ quote. Then ask if they can drop the price. If not, save the quote (get the #) and try again.

I have dropped systems a few hundred dollars doing this.

Keep in mind though, since this is a new system and they are obviously selling quite well, you may not be able to haggle much.

    Good luck.
