For the E1705, what's changed in the last day or so in terms of prices? A few days ago before I got my return credit, it was coming out to around $1250 for my system.. now it's back to around $1440.. Any ideas? Can't really tell by looking what's different. Guess I'm waiting to see what pans out for next week :(

Any ideas about whether it's temporary?

but if Intel Core Duo's are lowing in price...why is the price of the laptop going up...!?!?!

its just like the HP Pavilion DV8000T, it went up about $200, but right now there is a $150 discount plus another $50 off, so....

they probably have too many 1.66 ghz processors and need to get rid of them, so they upped the prices on the others so more people are inclined to get the cheaper ones

I ordered my system this Monday and it came in at 1367. Same exact config today costs 1592.... that's over 200 bucks. Guess I got really lucky :)

Sucks, I've been waiting weeks for Dell to give me credit for my 7800 equipped laptop.. Got it yesterday, so I logged on to finally reorder.. and holy cow, it's like $250 more. Figures  ... It'd still be a lot less than the $1687 I paid initially on May 10th, but I guess I'll keep waiting.. Sad :(

Sounds like a likely scenario that they may be trying to clear out their inventory of 1.66's, especially since the T2700 is coming out soon, isn't it? Maybe they're dropping the low end completely, as they probably should... Still frustrating!

The prices took a nice jump this week. The DVD burner, GPUs, CPUs, and HD all rose a good amount. Im hoping they will drop next week or the weeks following. I dont see them going any higher, atleast I hope not.
