So I have a slot load drive on my Studio 15z. Found out that those little circular sticker labels they put around the cd holes (think netflix and redbox) makes my drive go crazy. Loads and unloads just find but I definitely hear this sound as if the label is brushing against the drive (the faster it spins the louder the sound is).

Anybody else notice this problem or should I just get my drive replaced?

I haven't seen this issue occuring on my Studio 1555, I would recommend that perhaps you give Dell a call and see what can be done.

For the record, my DVD drive is a HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GA10N. From experience, I know some of the Optiarc and TSST drives can be really noisy.
