    How do I tighten or loosen the screen hinge on my inspiron 1520

    remove the hinge cover after removing the cover plate above the keyboard.

    You should see nuts on the hinges, tighten them to tighten the hinges

    I've had those hinges before - you can't do tighten or loosen them because they will break into crums. Those hinges are garbage I got better ones sent to me from Dell.

    Here's a pic for the 1400 series, and you can see the nut..... Not sure what hinges the 1500/1520 uses.

    is it the same way for the Vostro 1500 to fix the hinges as given for the dell inspiron

    Tried playing with them but couldn't get them to budge :(

    Why would you want it looser? The lid would never stay open.

    I want it looser so I don't wear out the hinges ... IM just strange like that..

    But the hinges are getting loser anyway. I close the laptop once a day if that.
