Im going to purchase a Dell Inspiron E1705 in the next two weeks.I know that the Dell coupons expire after a week and then more are released.Right now I want to use the 20% off deal but Im hoping that a deal will still be available after this week's deal expires. Because the last 20% deal expired and they came out with another one.Does anyone know how that works? Do you think that there will be more coupons for my notebook choice in the coming weeks?

You should always hold off buying a laptop until you absolutely need it unless you get a killer deal. I would not consider 20% killer. I have found 35% coupons and also 750 dollar coupons in the past. That being said-no one knows what Dell will do next week. They may have a better deal or a worse deal. They also might have rebates instead of coupons, no one knows. They have or will soon, sorry not sure, phase out coupons completely. Consider Ebay to buy a better coupon. It may cost a few dollars but can saving you hundreds. I was able to use a 40% off coupon to secure my e1505.

I have to disagree a bit. I think you should buy what you need when it is at a price point you can afford. If you use the "lets see if it drops another 30 or 40 dollars" argument you may end up pricing yourself out of it altogether. The coupon expires dell decides not to release another one for 3 or 6 months later and now the laptop is 400 bucks more. I say go for it. Look at what has happened recently. The inspiron class 14 15 and 17 have gone up 150 bucks or more and come stock with the core duo 2050 533 buss cpus rather than the 2300 633 bus deal. If you jumped during the 750 off and 30% off deals months ago you could have had a kick @#$ book for 1100 beans. Now the prices are going up and up and the specs are going down. Lets see how high they go when dell introduces the core 2 chips with a 64 bit memory bus that no one outside linux users are going to take advantage of. Let's face it vista is at least another year away and core 2 will be in its 3rd or 4th iteration by then anyway maybe amd will beef up its turion x2 line by then.

That's exactly why I said to wait as long as possible--better technology always becomes cheaper. However he stated that he will be purchasing within the next two weeks. This means that he doesn't have the luxury of time. You gotta pull the trigger and just be happy otherwise you will never own a laptop that you are satisfied with.
