Just thought I might bring you all a little hope. I know how frustrating it is to wait for the laptop you ordered and it can be kind of discouraging....

Well, I recieved my laptop on Thursday and I can tell you it's well worth the wait. I don't have any performance reviews other then my own opinion, but I can tell you the computer is amazing. The screen is crystal clear...maybe a little bit of grainess on lighter backgrounds, but way less then you see most HDTV LCDs at the store with. Sound is out of this world for a laptop, love the web cam and all of the cool gadgets that came with it.

I have been able to play WoW at full graphics settings with minimum effect on performance. Watching HD videos has made me want to go out and buy a 40+ LCD for my living room now, lol. Definitely feel a bit spoiled with this laptop.

Also...Windows Vista compliments the new system perfectly. Win XP just wouldn't do any justice. It really completes the package.

I would have made a big mistake going with another laptop, after getting to use this one. So hang in there everyone, you got a beaut comin!

    1520
    2.0 Ghz proc
    2 Gig ram
    1440 x 900 res glossy
    nvidia 256mb
    soundblaster integrated

Yeah, an obese, cheaply built laptop sure is a beauty, and then theres the sub-par technical support...

Your a real downer man. I made the mistake of listening to people like you while I was waiting and totally sucked all of the excitement out of my purchase. When I actually got the computer I saw how nice it was, and it made me realize how many people like to whine.

The computer is well built compared to most of the models that I tried out, and performs extremely well.

Seriously though, if you have such a problem with the dell go buy another computer and stop haunting the Dell threads. :)

Have you ever seen a 1520 in person or even used one?

lol... is there any difference from the Inspiron and the Vostros besides the color of the case and the software?

I'm waiting on my Vostro... which took a whole lot faster to process than the Inspiron did.

I read somewhere that the Vostro's GPU was a little slower. Not sure though.

It is a beast. But that contibutes to the Great build quality. Which also explains the NO FLEX anywhere on the laptop. I have messed with a 1520 at the Dell kiosk. The tech-support however is sub-par just like most other tech-supports.

I don't believe so. They both have 8600M GTs, so where would the difference come from? They both also use integrate X3100s, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

Do you have any other reviews on the notebook in terms of gaming... I have a over 2 year old Dell machine (Notebook) That plays WoW flawlessly on top settings.
