Hi everyone, i was wondering if someone here with a dell XPS M170 could tell me the stock temps of the card under load. I would really like to know as i want to overclock my Dell 9400 and I want to know what it can take.

You tell me how to find that information, and I'll give you your answer!

You cannot really compare the 7800go to the 7800gtx go. The 7800go only has one heat pipe coming off the heatsink. On the other hand, the 7800gtx go has two heat pipes. Any temp below 70C is great, at 80-90C, you are starting to push the gpu, and 97C, you don't want to be there.

You can use, cool bits to check out the temps. I really just want to know the range i should keep it in under load. If under 70 C is acceptable than thats great. Thx.

Ok, if you need more info, I'll be glad to grab specs for you. Enjoy!

i9kfangui can also give you temps of hdd, ram, gpu, and cpu. It also gives you the option of controling your fans speed.

MDI says to not use i9kfangui with dual core processors.
i9kfangui is not compatable with the new Dell Duo Core laptops at this time.
Please do not install or use i9kfangui with these laptops, there are some issues with the fan controls. I will try to get these sorted out in version 2.4, due out after the release of version 2.3 - Link -
But the XPS M170 isn't Duo Core so it should be good-to-go, right?
-
Oh, lol... Duh. Yah its fine to use it with the M170.
I've been thinking about the E1705 a little too much lately. -
Yeah, my input was for the m170.
To anyone with a Dell XPS M170 With GTX
