I installed windows 7 on my e1505 laptop, not the laptop version. I don't know if I can, but I would like to be able to turn the selection function of the touch pad off ( I want to be able to tap my touch pad and have nothing happen, its a little pet peeve of mine when I accidentally select something with it). Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thank you.

If you laptop has a short cut FN function to disable try that. If not you could always go into device manager and disable it and then re enable it when needed.

I'm assuming you will be using an external mouse?

Ahh i see what you mean, like if you're typing and accidentally hit it you don't want the mouse to move. Go into control panel and select mouse and see what options you can tweak.

Also are you using a synaptics driver?

What I normally do is use the SYnaptics driver. I have the shortcut in my system tray and can dis/enable it with a few clicks and button presses. I think it's the best way. To enable it you can just use shortcut keys to find your way into control panel > mouse

    Hi,
assuming you have installed manufacturer drivers (Synaptics or Alps, depends on your hardware), then these should have an "enable tapping" option you can set according to your demands.
