    Studio 1735

Touch pad buttons are stuck/fused together

Well, let me explain. When I press the left button, it detects that BOTH buttons are pressed. And when I press the right button, it detects that BOTH buttons are pressed. I temporarily got around this by going into the Dell touchpad software and setting the "Both Buttons" to "Click."

I've reloaded the touchpad driver and the Dell Quickset software.

    Any other suggestions?

Sounds to me like it might be a hardware issue. Is this a new issue on a 1735 you've owned for a while, or did you recently acquire it and it's been like this the whole time you've had it?

I've had the PC for a little over a year.
    I bought it new.

The symptom started about 5 days ago.

Try completely uninstalling all the touchpad drivers and software, and then download the latest versions after rebooting the system.

    Thanks Greg.

    You were spot on....it worked!

I have previously downloaded the driver, but I had not deleted it first as you suggested.
