    Hi all.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6000 that I bought this April. I'm that type of a person (impatient) who likes to have a fast mouse pointer so that there is no time wasted in moving it around.

Now, I recently celebrated my birthday this year in May, and my friends presented me with a Logitech Wireless Optical Mouse. It works fine and all. But, somehow, my touchpad is jealous of it. I use the mouse in school, and use the touchpad when I take the notebook home. I set the speed of the mouse pointer in Control Panel>Mouse>Pointer Options to "Fast" and "Enhance Pointer Precision". However, whenever I restart the computer, it automatically goes back to the default speed, which is midway between "Slow" and "Fast". So, everytime that I switch on my computer, I've to go to the Control Panel and change the mouse pointer option to "Fast".

Can anyone please tell me why this is happening, and how I can get the mouse pointer option to set at the speed I want it to, irrespective of if I use the mouse or not ?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Best advice I can give is to experiment with the different software packages/drivers for each device. Have you installed both the touchpad and logitech software? If it doesn't seem to work with both installed, try just one or the other.

I use a combination of touchpad and an external usb mouse by razer, and using the two softwre packages/drivers together seems to work well.

Unfortunately you cannot have both softwares installed at the same time. I was having the same problem with my Logitech MX700 (previous) & MX1000 (current). Since I don't use the touchpad much I deleted its software and use only the Setpoint by Logitech.
The touchpad will still have the basic functions but the scrolling feature won't be available.

    Oh THAT's a bummer!
I'm pretty particular about my touchy thingy, too! I have nearly ALL the settings adjusted differently than "default".
I plan on getting a Blue Tooth board to install in my I9200, and then a mouse.
Is there a way I can I save the settings I make to the touchpad so that I can "reinstall" them easily if this happens to me?
Like some way to set the "default" values to what I have them at now?

    Happy Dell I9200 owner.
