I work on a regular desktop set up and mouse. I am having a hell of a time getting used to touchpad. I find it hard to scroll through selections and options, and often times I select the wrong one because the touchpad thinks I've tapped it. It's really cumbersome. How can just use the touchpad for scrolling and click when I want to select. I hate this **** thing. It slows me down.

You can change the settings of your touchpad. Go into the control panel. Then click the button that says mouse. Then just click the tab that says tapping or whatever else you want to change. Hope this helps. I had trouble with the touchpad but you do get used to it. :)

Yes! Get a small wireless mini mouse. The only time I use my Touchpad is when im on the go. Even then, I usually bring my mouse.

I just picked up the Logitech v200. Never skips, and has a dongle you plug into your computer's USB. Works on a propriatery frequency, so it doesn't interfer with other devices. Plugged it into two different laptops, they both recognized it within seconds, and it was working instantly! (Comes with software which adds features, but the mouse will work just fine without you're even installing the software)

When you're not going to use the mouse, take out the dongle, and it stores in a slot at the bottom of the mouse. Storing the USB transmitter also turns off the mouse, saving battery life!

They say it'll get a year on two AA batteries!

So far, I love it! (MUCH easier then a mousepad)

You can adjust the sensitivity of your mouse pad to your needs. I am not a fan of the stick mouse since the scroll function is on the mouse pad. I have yet to coordinate using the stick/eraser thing and the arrow keys which are just a pinky's distance away.

You could always skip the touch pad and get a mouse as has been suggested. You can also go into the mouse properties and adjust the sensativity. You can disable tapping so it won't select what your tapping and yet keep scrolling enabled.

Meta, I'm gonna go ahead and do just that then I'll see if it works to my liking. I suspect that will resolve the issue. I did already adjust the speed of mouse. The factory setting was terribly slow, so I maxed it out. I like a quick mouse ;)

I am a freak as I am actually fairly fond of touchpads. That's exactly how I like it, throw speed bar up all the way. Guess, sensativity won't matter for you. I also have 'autoscroll' enabled when I press both mouse buttons together. The tap option is under the 'touchpad' tab. =)
