Do you guys know if there is any way to trade in my 1520 for a 1530 and maybe pay a little more to DELL. I don't think so based on the threads I've been reading, but I'd like a definite answer. The only thing I don't like about my 1520 is the weight. I have the 6 cell battery, but this thing is still heavy. Is the 1530 that much lighter than the 1520?? Another thing about the 1530s I don't like is only three color options. I like my blue color (but I guess I could live with a different one). Plus the whole headphone noise issue with the 1520 and the tray loading DVD drive (slot loaders are a lot lighter). Plus with all the instant savings Dell is giving on the 1530, it's incredible. But then again, technology changes every 6 months too, so that could just be it. I don't know, what do you guys think?

You can try to get them to take it back. You just have to be really pushy and have had to gone through many difficulties to try to get to be fixed if you're out of your 21 day period.

Your laptop is four months old, Dell has no interest in it. Sell it on Ebay, buy a 1530 if you feel the need. If yo want a "real" answer, call Dell.

thats right man !! whenever you buy any piece of pc hardware, let alone a whole machine you have to accept that ina few months something newer and better will be around, especialy laptops, its daft to buy and use one for 4 months...then wonder if dell will just let you swap it     , ebay or sell to someone is your only route, but then in 4 months a new one will be out and will you be saying the same then ?

whenever i buy a new machine, like the one in my sig,i make my mind up before i buy it,then stick with it and i dont do things like look at the new ones on dells site i could of had had i waited...if you do that youl be forever unhappy with any piece of technogolgy you ever buy !!

Lol, bravo Polsta - you draw great points.

A quick answer, Dell won't do it. At least not admit to doing it to everyone because they'd be bankrupt after awhile if everyone wanted it. BUT it's possible they COULD make a exception, this one time. You'd have to be pushy as hell, never stop bugging then they'll get fed up and say "FINE WE'LL DO IT FFS" bluntly. You got nothing to loose right?

Unless you're within your 21 day return limit, Dell WILL NOT allow you to trade in for any reason whatsoever no matter how much you beg, whine, cry, tantrum, or yell. Period.
