A while back ago I had trouble getting the recovery disks for my Dell laptop (sent it to the wrong address) and they aplogized and sent me them right away. Well somehow I got a message soon after saying that my wireless mouse would be on its way too. I never bought a wireless mouse from them. OK? Should I act dumb and ask them when it will be ariving? Well that's what I did. I asked for a tracking number but they said it hasn't been processed yet but they will give me one when it is delivered. Cool. It's been several weeks and I haven't heard from them and so I just replied again. They said:
"I apologize for the delay in the shipment of the order for the wireless mouse. I
have looked through your account and can see that the because of some technical
problems, the order could not be processed that is the reason, the order has
taken little longer to be shipped out of Dell but you do not have to worry about
this case. I have again placed the order for the wireless mouse under the order
number ********* and estimated to be shipped out of Dell on 09/15/06 with the
next day shipping method."
Sweet. Next day shipping too. Sweet.

Lol, no. I just thought it was funny how I'm getting something free from them. My parents told me to leave it alone but I'm insisted on getting this. Nice to have a wireless mouse for my laptop.
-
Are you sure they aren't going to bill you for it.
Tim -
...
This isnt something to brag about you know...
Also they might charge you for it if they find out. -
ill buy it from you for 5 bucks when it arrives.

Oh crap. Didn't think much about them billing me.
I might just return it to them if I am gonna be billed. I hope I don't but I have a feeling. -

dell never sent me my wireless router, i called and i still never got it. doeasnt matter though cause im in college now
-
Are you sure that you've never been trckied by Dell?
-
LOL @ ^
anyway, if you accept the mouse, and they do find out and charge you for it, then if you want to return it you will have to pay for shipping back to them
but do tell what happens
i'd rather have a wired usb laser mouse then any bluetooth or any other wireless mouse because then you don't have to:
a) buy batteries for it if it's not rechargable
b) you never have to recharge so you will never have to worry about the mouse going dead on you while playing a game or doing crazy things when low power
c) you can't use the mouse while it's recharging
d) it's more environmentally friendly (i hate global warming and pollution) since even rechargable batteries will die after a few hunderd charge cycles and they're capacity diminish as they get used more.
wired mice are awesome -
wired mice take power from ur laptop battery, but otherwise, thats what im getting
-
I'd take a few wireless mice over wired ones... I hate having to deal with the wire going from class to class in school, it really makes it a pain. With a mouse like the Logitech G7 then you have 2 batteries, and a seperate charger so you don't really have to worry about the batteries dying when you need to use the mouse, it only takes 0.5 seconds to switch them out.
-
i like the environment
and thus i don't like to use batteries cause they are hard to recycle and produce lots of pollution to make
gobal warming affects us all and we should really cut down on resource consumtion and stop being so **** lazy.
a wireless mouse would use more energy then a wired one too -
Where are the morals of kids today? Why not go to Wal Mart and eat all the fruit you want from their fruit section?

haha, i thot it was too silly to respond to, but that made me chuckle -
with gas prices the way they are, i wish i did have a solar powered car
those things cost hundreds of thousands, i could sell it and be rich
Note: i got the mx5000 with the mx1000 mouse. the BT is kinda scrwey, i think i'm better off using xp BT managment service then the logitech. (eg, i select the msn status button as busy, but everytime i switch on my computer, the logitech program switches the msn status button to "appear offline." also, the scroll down button on the mx1000 seem to keep scrolling down even after i let go of the button)
i like the rechargable mouse but don't like the 4 aa battery needed to power the keyboard and i find the addition of the lcd on the keyboard kinda useless and is just a novelty feature.
i actually rather have a USB keyboard and mouse cause now with BT i can't go one touch keyboard button to start up or go into bios cause the BT driver is not yet loaded :-(
this means i still need my ps2 keyboard to go into bios. -
Okay, first of all, this thread is pretty stupid IMO. Tricking someone into free stuff is always a bad idea... especially considering that as others have said, Dell could still charge you for it.
Secondly, I actually prefer a wired ball mouse. Until they get dirty, I just haven't had any problems with them. They're pretty responsive and you don't have to worry about batteries or USB/BT receivers or anything. That being said, when I got my new laptop, I went out and bought a Logitech wireless optical mouse, and I'm very happy with it. It has great features, feels great, is portable (I take it to the Student Activity Center and to a few classes), and is still pretty responsive, though not quite as much when you first start using it after a while of it sitting there. But that's because mine has battery saving properties to where the optic light turns off when not used for a bit.
@hmmmm... everyone likes the environment. But I'm just gonna go out and say that when you stop driving your car and start riding your bike or walking, when you move out of your house and live by fire heat, and when you get rid of your laptop and start handwriting everything, then you can tell people that wireless mice with their 2 (sometimes 4) AA batteries that need replacement maybe twice a year are bad for the environment. Just my $0.02.
