Honestly? You'll get 50% back probably, because lot a lot of people look for that high end of a laptop configuration.

99% of people that want a 1730 want the 8800 SLI Config. It'd be best just to wait for the upgrade program.

I'd sale it and get what you can.

Check the prices on Ebay and Amazon.com to see what they are going for. That should help you get some kind of price established.

1,500 more than I expected .So If I get the 1,500 back spend another 2,000 and get laptop with the 8800.I can not see the upgrade program being less than 1,000 .

try craigslist. Depending on where you live, you could probably get more, and you wouldn't have to deal with the whole shipping deal. Its better to deal locally imo.

I'd forget about the upgrade program.

Just get something that will keep you satisfied for at least a year.

After 2 months of runaround not in the mood to wait.Have been told 2 many times 2,000 is the cost of a new card and Dell promised a upgrade did not promise to do it for free .I went pretty high up in dell and at first they seemed like they wanted to help but push comes to shove nothing.

Where are you at? When people ask questions like this you should have where they live in their AVATAR. ;)

Also keep in mind that you will most likely have trouble selling a $1500 laptop on eBay as a brand new user with no feedback.

Keep trying Dell spare parts. A guy from other forum took 6 tries, and got the GPU for 900 shipped.

Selling expensive item like laptop on ebay is not really a good idea. Reason is I tried to sell my old laptop on ebay before and all these scammer would buy my item then send me a fake paypal transaction then ask me to send the item to them. After 3 times of these crap I eventually gave up.
