I just ordered an E1705. According to Dell, even though the laptop has 2 external video ports (VGA and DVI), I can't use both ports and the built-in display simultaneously. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

    Thanks

By the way, the laptop has a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS.

I don't know about your specific model but I don't think you can use both output ports on laptos - its always one or the other - while you can use your laptop screen and one of the additional ports only.

If you want triple screens, then you can use something like the Matrox adaptor http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/dh2go/digital/home.php

The video card itself is only capeable of dual displays, in a desktop setting you could simply just add another video pci video card, with a notebook you dont have that option, the matrox solution is an option, but it really just gives you one great big stretched out desktop, you can run independant desktops with it, try googling triple head displays.
