I have a Vostro 1500 with GeForce 8400M card. It has a 7 pin S-Video output. I got a 7 pin mini DIN to 3 RCA cable (2 of the RCA are supposed to be for audio, but I'm not sure how its possible to get audio from a graphics card). I tried connecting to the TV using the video RCA, but even though the TV gets detected by the laptop, there is no picture on the TV. What might be the problem?

The video connector is yellow while the other two are red and black.

Yes, I've tried all the basic steps. I'm familiar with the process of extending the desktop to the TV. This is the third cable I'm trying. The first one was a S-Video to RCA cable with one RCA connector, but the TV wasn't even detected when I used it. I assumed the cable was faulty and got another cable. This one was S-Video to component. When I used it I was able to get the video on the TV but the color reproduction was horrible. I exchanged it for this 3 RCA cable and I'm yet again stuck with a problem.
