Hi I am having problems overclocking my 8600M GT at driver level. I am running X64 Vista 163.69 drivers downloaded from the NVIDIA web site.

I installed Rivatuner but it wouldn't save my new core / memory speeds (575/480).

    Is it a driver issue?

I was thinking about doing a BIOS overclock but the HP USB Flash utility doesn't work on X64 Vista :(

    Any ideas???

Yeah I think it's a driver issue. Try the new 167.26 driver at laptopvideo2go.com instead. You shouldn't have a problem saving your OC.

I just installed the 169.01 from laptopvideo2go.com as the 167.26 ones were not available for x64 Vista, I also installed Rivatuner 2.06 beta. I have been successfully able to alter the fan speed controls but overclocking STILL won't work :( very annoying!

169.01 are the newest so those are the right drivers. Is it not OCing at all or not staying after reboot?

using rivatuner it would show as if it was o/c but i never saw any improvement in the vista performance index like i did when i ran vista 32-bit so not sure what to think really. now using ntune but again not sure it's working. am going to download 3dmark and check out my scores.

167.26 and 169.01 can overclock without bios flash. All previous 16x.xx had no overclock abilities.
