Wondering about the 2 different screen choices:

    1) Has anyone purchased the standard 17" screen with the 6800? If you buy the high end video card, are you losing out by not having the True Life Screen ? With so many people having criticisms about that one, I'm reluctant to buy it. I have seen the similar type on a Toshiba laptop, and the reflections were very annoying. It has a polished look, but I'm wondering about the practicality of it.

    2) If you aren't a "gamer" per say, but do enjoy doing photography (Photoshop/slideshows, watching dvds) etc, would you say that it would be worth the investment of getting the 6800 over the ati300 64 or 128.

    Thanks

check out this thread about the not truelife screen http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14761
I like it cause for me the glare was distracting with the other screen plus I just heard to many ppl complaining about the truelife displays so I just opted not to worry about it but they do look good, you just have to way it. I use my 9300 for at least 6to7 hrs. a day.

as for the 6800 video card if you game or do editing at all I would opt for this upgrade I think they should have had like an X600 option so they hit all the bases but hey for $100+ it's not a bad upgrade and a must if you plan on playing games that are graphic intence.

To watch DVD's and stuff you don't need that great of a graphics card. The X300 should be fine, and would save you money which could be spent on more ram, hd, cpu etc.
