I am about ready to grab an xps 140 from the dell outlet.....I have a lot more to choose from w/o the truebrite...but I wanted to see what one was like so I went into an Office Depot today and looked at all the true brite style machines (no Dells but Toshibas and Sonys) and I must say, they are highly reflective...if the truebrite screen on the Dell is the same, I will most likley steer away from it...how do the rest of you with one of these screens deal with so much glare?

They appear worse in store then after you buy them because with all the lights in Office Depot it really detracts from the appearence. But once you use it say around the house its much better then a matte screen in my eyes.

i very rarely notice any glare at all. it all depends on where you are and how much you focus on it. i can use my screen almost anywhere before the glare becomes a problem.

I recommend truelife. The matte screen on this model is terrible (i.e., dim) to my eyes.

I just got a Dell XPS M140 this week. I have the Quanta Display screen with Trulife. I read all these negative reviews while i was waiting for it to be shipped. But thankfully it is a great screen! no dead pix, little to no light leakage. The reflection doesn't bother me; I don't really notice it in my house. Septor

I'm feeling better with each post....by the way, my computer at work is a standard CRT with a glass screen and the glare is almost non-existent....I guess the store with all those overhead flourescents is really no place to test a screen out....

You can see Dell tru-life screens at the Dell Kiosk at the mall. =)
