how much of a difference is there between getting xga display with truelife and getting it without. I have read that the screen is more grainy with truelife..is this true?

There are numerous threads about this. The general consensus is that the truelife displays do have graininess, ranging from very mild to very bad. There are many people with the truelife that don't have any graininess at all. The graininess seems to be limited to only a couple of the manufacturers. Do a forum search to read more about them.

It's not just Dell computers that may have a grainy screen. I was looking at the Toshiba laptops at Office Depot a couple days ago, and one of them had what I thought was a very grainy screen compared to the others. I ordered a Vostro last weeked and am hoping it has a good screen.
