This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Trying to change a setting, need help

    Just got my first laptop Inspiron 1750. This is a very basic question but I can't figure it out.

    What I want to be able to do is (with the computer on and lid closed) open the lid and go directly to the desktop.

    Currently when opening the lid, I have to click on the Dell icon first and then it goes to the desktop.

    Is there a way to get around this?
