Hi All
I have this old Dell Laptop that has the following details:
Dell Inspiron 6000
Intel Pentium M Processor
1.66 GHz
0.99 GB RAM
I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade to 2 GB RAM. A few years ago, I remember asking the same question to Dell. Their answer was: No, the maximum you can do is 1GB and so I have 1 GB of RAM right.
Are they right about this?
What options do I have? I researched this issue on the internet and I read about people upgrading their Dell Inspiron 6000 laptops to 2 GB Ram. But this may not apply to my system necessarily (??)
Please advise. Thanks in advance and thanks a ton for your time.

According to the manual here:
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6000/en/om/D5181bk5.pdf
on page 93 & 94 it states that there are two memory module connectors, each can be fitted with a 1GB SODIMM giving you a total amount of RAM to be 2GB.

By the way, I have Windows XP SP 2, but would like to replace it with Ubuntu 9.04.
I downloaded the PDF and will follow the instructions for upgrading the memory.
