Does anybody know if the "Tv Tuner + Remote Control Bundle, for vista home premium" accessory option of the 1420 is internal, external or pcmcia?

Anybody know anything about this product in general?

    -Thanks!

Pretty sure its external, since its listed under Accessories. As for what format, I'm assuming its Express Card.

I'm almost certain the Tuner is USB.

I just ordered it and they claim it's internal and NOT express card. So I hope they're right.

-because one of them on the site says usb...then the other says nothing, that one that says nothign they claim is internal.

Some say that this is usb but every dell rep says it's not...

This is the option that it gives you for the TV Tuner. Is OPtion #3 just numbers #1 + 2 combined? Therefore it is usb? Or is it something completely different like internal?
Every customer rep that I've talked to have said it' s not express card or usb, that #3 is internal, but that is so hard to believe.

Can anybody help me solve this issue?

My system (1720) shipped today and I included this option. I'll stop by later this week and let you know what it is... I'm hoping it's Internal but I won't loose any sleep if it's not.

Do report back once it arrives. I need to know if I can hook up my video game consoles to my laptop by a TV tuner card. Hook up a PS3 to the laptop in 1080p? Is it SD or HD? What ports does it have? HDMI? DVI? Composite? Component? S-Video? Standard A/V? Pictures would be great to have. A WUXGA laptop is a poor man's HDTV.

Any new developments? I'm very interested in knowing whether whether the TV tuner is internal or external on the 14xx, 17xx.

Also, has anybody used the 2MP integrated webcam? Is it any good? Most laptop webcams are pretty poor, compared to say a high-end Logitech, I wonder if Dell's any different. CMOS or CCD (better) sensor?

    Thanks!

Just finished unpacking and and cleaning up the system. I'll snap some pictures later but I'm having too much fun right now to stop playing long enough.

The TV/Remote is all 100% external (it's not even the nice little one the fits into the PC card slot). Simple coax in with composite/SD out.

That actually works fine for me as I will be using this as a TV when camping and such so I'm just going to throw it all intro a drawer.

Sorry to dissapoint, I know you where hoping for a lot more.

Thanks for the update Bill. Would you mind still posting some photos of the TV tuner connections on your new laptop? I wonder why this external tuner is offered as well as a USB external tuner and remote option....
