I have a 1520 and the only two things im not satifised with are the screen and the hard drive. I got the matte oriinally but wanted to upgrade to the 1440 hi-def. Well of course i get a grainy screen and its unbearable. I'm wondering what my best option is to do with that. Should I go ahead and get the 1280 anti-glare, or the 1280 glossy?

Also my hard drive is SO LOUD. I think its cause its a FUJITSU. What should I do with this? Request another hard drive, or buy my own? Im under the 3 year warranty. Your opinions are much appreciated.

Get the glossy. It looks very nice. Unless of course you'll be using your computer around high-lighted areas, the glossy works just fine in medium-lighted areas.
Go ahead and request a new hard drive from Dell. Since you're under the 3 year warranty, you can have them come out and replace yours.

How do you upgrade the screens? I've tried to ask Dell if we could, but they said no. We're over the 21 day limit.

Wouldn't they just replace it with the same version of the screen, but a different part?

do the glossy 1280's look good? and they have a very low chance of being grainy right?

I'm on technical support and they say it's not possible because it's not what I ordered. They said it was able to be purchased separately though, but I really don't wanna have to pay for it :|

They won't help you with a system that is already in position. Because they'll end up with a used screen and out a new one, even if that screen is grainy as hell. No company will give you the 'upgrade for a small fee' option.

It's rather buy a whole screen or claim it's defective and want a replacement screen/system.
