    On the 1525 i just got. The backlight bleed is quite noticable. On a black screen it appears half the screen appears to be a white tinge, it may be the glossy screen, but there is definitely significant backlight bleed, it also appears to be uneven on darker shots.

    I have also noticed a dead pixel up in the top left corner

    I'm just wondering, how you go about diagnosing the screen type? Its also quite grainy i guess, pretty disappointing really.

    For the M1730 there's three screen types;

    1) LG (The best)
    2) Sharp (ok'ish)
    3) Samsung (just plain poor)

    I think "SEC*****" code was either Sharp or Samsung.

    Is that good?

    There is some grain on the screen, and light bleed, is that normal though? You can definitely see both.

    Does anyone have any sample pictures of what is considered bad?

    You read the stickies before you post, and stop creating threads on grainy screens.

    Its not really grainy, it just has bad light bleed, uneven colours and really bad viewing angles
