    This is crazy!

My situation has got even more complicated now. I was thinking of cancelling my order, see this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=163249

I thought I had plenty of time to decide whether or not to cancel but on checking my order today it has been despatched from Limerick (Walsh Western)

I ordered on 29th at 19.20 and It has been despatched on the 31st (am). This seems very strange. There should be a 3 week wait and I was warned of this. I did ask for the order to be completed as soon as possible but even so this seems too quick, especially considering it has to be built and tested and boxed.

Could this be a pre built spec that was either cancelled in production or even returned to Dell and they have matched it with my spec and passed it on to me??

I still don't know if I want to change my spec but it may be worth receiving this, check it for the common faults on the Vostro and then decide if I want to keep it if it is a good machine.

    What does everyone think?

    Cheers

Its illegal for dell to sell you a refurbishment without your consent...During my visit to dell last year any laptop that is returned, if broken or not, is repaired and marked as OUTLET to be sold in the Dell outlet...

Mine should be arriving today :)

Ordered mine the 28th and I just checked the website again (it's very habitual) and it says being prepared for delivery! Seems like they're getting their skates on at last! :)

If I have a problem, like the screen, or I want to upgrade the spec and return it how long have I got to send it back. Is it 7 working days from receipt??

That's good news to hear that some Dells are shifting quickly.

Vostros don't suffer from the paint problems so maybe they have people and parts available who can't be used on the coloured notebooks until the paint is dry.

As I was contemplating cancelling for a better spec I think I will take receipt of this machine and check for any common problems. If everything is spot on I will probably stick with it.

If there is anything I am not happy with I think I will return for a refund and re-order at a later stage.

I presume I can get a full refund no questions asked if I decide I do not want it, within a certain time frame?????????????????

I got a £80 discount from buying through the phone. You can probably get all the above for around £620.
