    Hi,

Ordered a Dell XPS M1530, had the credit agreement yesterday, bit worried about signing and sending back. I replied to the email asking how much it would cost me to end the agreement early. I don't want to pay £25 a month for 3 years, I want to pay £100 a month for less than a year.

Had no reply and was wondering if anyoen else in the UK has been through this.

Although I have been a member here for a long time, this is the first time I have ordered, been putting it off for so long buying desktops, but I really don't game as much as I used to.

Hope the settlement fee's are not too bad cause I really want this XPS.

TBH I never enter these agreements. I always wait for the menoy before I order.
If I were you I would ring Dell and get confirmation of the early repayment fee's etc. Try to get it written via an email etc if you can as well. Dont let them tell you anything on the phone without something written as well, just in case you ever need it.
Get all the details before you sign, and only sign when you are 100% happy.

If you sign the agreement, it's a very binding contract. You can't just choose to pay £100 monthly if the agreement doesn't say that.

If you want to do like you say, pay £25 monthly (as per the agreement) and put the other £75 aside in a savings account (preferably a cash ISA) and when you've got enough to pay the remaining amount off in full, phone the finance company and negotiate.

Paying credit agreements early can and will affect your credit rating in a negative way (not too seriously, but it is on record for at least 6 years).

Thanks for the inputs. From what VinylPusher says I think I am going to leave it. I am looking to improve my credit rating and if paying it off early doesn't help then i'll leave it.

Pretty gutted now, really wanted to get an XPS, just have to wait until the student loan lands.
