Could someone please tell me if the 15" dell studio in the UK has a backlit keyboard. It makes no mention of it in the build options. Thanks for the help!!!

I've been wondering the same, I still think there in the process of updating the studios to the site, because on certain links that you follow, it shows information and images related to the inspiron 1535,

just seems to be that its still being changed over, it does say in the design of the laptop that its meant to have a backlit keyboard option.

No they all have backlit keyboards. They just dont indicate it in the specs. Kinda silly, but dont worry, they are all backlit.

while I was looking at the pictures of the laptops, the keyboards appear to have the same shape as the keyboards in the inspirons and vostros (14'' and 15'').

I tried looking at the service manual on dells website to see if they were compatible, but that was a no-go.

Do the US Studio 1535 and 1536 have the backlit keyboards?

I'd phone to confirm before you order, because I was told that the backlit keyboard isn't currently available as an option online in the UK, but that you can upgrade on a phone order, for £10 (?!) They didn't mention anything about it being model specific.

All seems a little strange really; it looks like a standard feature in the US, so not sure why it's not the same here for a mere £10. Maybe they're just a bit short of parts at the moment, and will make it standard when they're more widely available?

The Australian comes with a regular keyboard, to receive the backlight version you need to pay $38!!

Has anyone noticed the thousand dollar plus price premium over US models in Australia!!! I can’t believe they are selling them for so much, but having said that the base configuration is bloody high. 4GB ram as a minimum?!
