Seeing as most people on here are from the US, and all the threads never mention countries, I thought I would start a new thread for us lot in the UK.

When you post, include an idea of the specs you have, your order date, your order status at the moment, and your estimated delivery date. oh, and if there have been any changes.

To start us off, mine is in my sig. and I'm currently in pre-production since the 10th.

You have got a better deal than me so I hope I get priority. Dell will need to wake up soon since that delivery date is only 5 working days away.

They are made in Ireland. I called Dell today and apparently my M1330 is in production.

I have just heard from a friend (also in UK) who has just been notified by Dell that their EDD has been moved from 17th July to 8th August.

So maybe Dell wait until the EDD becomes impossibly close to meet before notifying people about rescheduling. We shall find out during the next week.

so it seems the EDDs jumped from 20th July to 1st August in a couple of days, lets hope they overanticipated demand and the dates get closer

That could be because they were running out of some components and there would be a delay getting more into stock. I wonder if the step in the EDD coincides with the announcement on the order site of the extended lead time of approximately two weeks.

My rep said I'd get it in the final week of July, but I'll ask the guy tomorrow again to confirm the stage it's at.

I ordered mine on the 6th July and it's on pre-production still as of 7th July and estimated shipping of 1st August. Well... atleast it's not the last week of August as many people elsewhere in the world have been receiving.

I've played the waiting game before on something else and it's frustrating that the launch of the M1330 seems to be a bit of a mess.

My impression is that the sales reps' concept of Production includes the Pre-Production stage whereas the Order Status site which we see separates the Pre-Production (scheduled for assembly when the parts are available) and the Production (=assembly) stage. Once the reps see the an order is "in production" they cannot change it without cancellation and going to the back of the queue.

    Maybe I'm wrong.

I received my confirmation quote a good few days ago now, can't remember when though. I've just sent another email to my rep so that I can have a more accurate update on my order. It's getting a bit desperate now, considering I've got no laptop to use and ideally it would be good if I could bring it into work!

Good job I don't need to ammend my order, otherwise I'd be at the bottom of the queue again!

    I got the following:

    RED XPS 1330
    T7100
    2GB RAM
    8400M GS 128MB
    CCFL screen
    Vista Home Premium
    6 cell battery
    Intel Pro Wireless
    Nylon carry case
    No biometric finger print reader
    Base warranty

    £800

    Order Date:05/07/2007
    Estimated Delivery Date:31/07/2007
    Pre-Production as of 06/07/2007

I recently emailed my Dell rep about the delay and got the following reply:

    "The manufacturing of 1330s have
already started. The wait time is actually on the intel processor as we
were getting limilted supply. Also, we always test the systems before
delivering them to the customers. Since these are new machines, we do
some extra tests to make sure that they run at an optimum speed later
on. The estimated delivery date for this machine to reach your doorsteps
is 31st of July or BEFORE that."

So it looks like the delay might be on the processor

I'm hoping it is just on your T7100 and that my T7300 would come to me without delays :) (here's hoping). My deal is in my signature and I'm hoping mine will ship before the 1st August. It's great that they're doing extra testing to prove reliability. I mean Zepto decided to pull their T7700s off their smaller, more portable notebooks due to power consumption and heating issues.

GOOD NEWS! just spoke to a dell rep, who said that the delay on my order was due to a part not being available, however this part should be delivered on 19th/20th July and i shoulg get my 1330 delivered on 25th/26th latest.
So seems like Dell are shipping early, and everyone should be getting theirs soon. Keep pestering them and emailing them and phoning them and eventually you get someone who knows something.

UPDATE: the delayed part is the plastic cover, so im assuming the red one is back-ordered. maybe all of them are.

just updated, the plastic cover was not available. i dont know whether that means in general, or just the red one.

I expect if you ordered before me then you should get yours before me, unless you have another part that is delayed further

I also mentioned to him that my system is still in pre-production. he said don't worry about it. you will recieve it. Don't see how as it's not even built yet.

I think he's playing me along.......

After a few canceled orders i logged into my mail from the hotel internet where I am right now to find out that my laptop is now in production. It is really good that everything has gone through ok i was worried that i maybe facing another canceled order again or something. I ordered it on the 7th of July and it is expected to arrive on or before the 2nd of August.

I ordered my M1330 on the 02/07/2007. It's been in pre-production since the 6th with no change to status. The EED is for this Friday 19th July. For some reason I have doubts it will arrive on that date. We shall see!

I'm another expecting delivery on Thursday 19th July, has anybody got an earlier estimated date?

BTW my Inspiron desktop order went from pre-production to a phone call from Walsh Western to arrange delivery in less than 24 hours so there is a glimmer of hope although getting the thing delivered has proved a little more tricky.

Is that an email from your sales rep or the status on the Order Status site? I thank the sales people say "in production" once your credit card has been checked and the computer is put into pre-production (ie the queue).

Has anyone in Europe with an M1330 order reached the production stage on the Order Status website?

The email was from a customer services care team rep and not from the sales rep who took my order. They tried calling me first but i missed their call so they emailed me.
I was told that they would keep me informed before when i called up the customer service care team about something before so maybe this is just them keeping me informed.
I checked the order status page at around 12-1pm UK time and it was still showing that my order was pre production but as been said the order status page is not always accurate.
I know that they have the funds on hold with my bank but as to whether or not i have been actually charged yet i don't know.

Sadly you'll still be in pre-production. Customer care are clueless. I was told this morning that my order has been "in Production" since July 6th LMAO! I made sure they double checked and yes 100% "In production" not "Pre-production" Dont belive a word they say im afraid. Until you get a tracking number with Walsh Weston its a guessing game.

djrm i called my dad today and he told me that he was called by somebody at Dell today who told him that my laptop will be ready to be shipped next week. Dell also called him on his mobile as they have more than one contact number down for me.
I am not entirely sure what is happening with my order but i guess that i will have to wait and see if there is any truth in the information that they have given us.

Dont get me wrong, next week could well be on the cards for you (well i hope so anyway) but I would be shocked if your order was really in production right now as that would more than likely mean delivery in the next few days.

All the people expecting them this week are still stuck in pre-production despite all the phone calls made by Dell this morning.

My estimated delivery date has just shot out from 19/07 to 20/08, has this happened to anybody else?

I have a friend who last Friday (13th) had his M1330 EDD moved from July 17th to August 8th.

I think that the order status system realises there is a problem two working days ahead of the EDD and then creates a new EDD date (at the end of the queue).

So I'm waiting for my notification of rescheduling tomorrow.

Mine went from 19/07 to 13/08. If they do ship at this date it'll have been a 1,5 months from order to delivery, which is a lot more than the "3 weeks" they are displaying on their (French) web site
