Why does the price of the 1330 change so often? I've been tracking it for a couple of weeks, always aiming for the same specification, albeit with the fastest processor optiom. The prices have been:
    2nd July: £1793.69 with 2.4GHz
    3rd July: £1617.44 with 2.2GHz
    8th July: £1499.94 with 2.4GHz
    12th July: £1596.94 with 2.4GHz
    13th July: £1714.44 with 2.2GHZ
Why the variation and why does the 2.4GHz process come and go.

Also, these prices are for the home user. There is also typically a £20 difference if the price is configured for a small-business user. Does it matter which of these channels you buy from or do you just go with the cheapest on the day?

Prices changed for USA M1330 as well.
They started before at 1200$ now they start at 1449, with NO option of opting out of the LED screen.

This is for the basics too, T5250, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD

I have no idea what you are talking about. I can get a $1299 system without LED.

Same here, I have built my same system several times to see the new estimated ship date. And I have never seen my price system change.

And you can still configure the reg LCD screen just fine. Why would Dell stop accepting orders for the one part that is not back ordered? :p

The changes I have noticed during the past week are:

    (i) The cost of the LED backlight option increased by about £50 around a week ago. I think that is an attempt at demand management.

(ii) The introductory special pricing of £799 and £849 were valid up to 11th? and have been replaced by £829 and £899. The £699 version is unchanged as far as I can see. Also, the £0 USB modem option is no longer available on the web site.

One confusion has been that that the website has, for some of the time, been showing the T7700 as a £94 upgrade from the T7100 when they actually meant the T7300. I don't know if this is one reason Dell have stopped the orders with the T7700. On Monday I was tempted to change my order to take advantage of that bargain!

As far as I know, Dell won't mind whether you use home user or a small business as long as your credit card works. Home user prices include VAT and delivery whereas the small business prices have these costs added at the end. Most of the home user options have funny prices because they are a round number + 17.5% VAT.

Careful which model you start with when you customise. The most expensive one to start with becomes the cheapest even when the specs are identical as far as i can tell..

and there is no 2.4's anymore

Correct. I started with the expensive version and then phoned up to downgrade the GPU to the X3100. I had to haggle to get the downgrade valued the same as the 8400M upgrade on the other versions - I was initially offered less. Also, by phone I was able to add a spare battery.
