Hi, I've been wanting to buy a XPS1330 for a while now, but all the horror stories on this forum keep stopping me.
I'm waiting for Dell to iron out all their teething problems and improve their quality control, but here's my question; do the UK XPS1330s that are built in Ireland, suffer the same quality control problems (e.g. poor panel fit, scratches, bulging keyboard, cpu whine etc) as those machines built across the pond?
Thanks,
James

I cant speak for all but my M1330 build quality was perfect. No sign of any scratches, wobble etc. What I did have on mine was an extremely loud whine when the laptop is off and charging, so have requested a replacement. But other than that one problem, the laptop came in perfect condition.
Hope that helps. -
Well, I'll let you know tomorrow
Btw, all EU-bound gear is assembled in Limerick

Don't actually know if quality problems are caused of the high mass of sales they are getting... but if don't like the quality of the laptop you receive you can always return it no problem...
I got mine 3 weeks ago and aside from a light uneven base which was completely fixed with some carefully bending and the common whine its perfect, but i still asked for a replacement cause i don't like the whine... i could keep it but i don't have anything to lose -

Any one else got experience of the EU manufactured XPS M1330 build quality?
