You may remember me from the "How long does it really take" thread. If not, let me get you up to speed. So I ordered a XPS M140 almost 2 weeks ago, and it was supposed to come last wednesday, however, turns out that UPS lost my package. So I contact UPS, who tells me to contact Dell, who tells me to wait a few days. So I get fed up enough that I go to the local ups facility who tells me they got no idea where it is. So I go home, call dell yet again, and finally they agree to get a replacement order (that was monday), now its wednesday and the order # hasn't been generated yet because it is still in the appoval stage. I mean, seriously, how long does it take to get approved, rediculously long. The woman I spoke with this morning says that it should be approved within 24 hours. Which is almost 3 days since the replacement order was place. However, on the bright side, I do get FREE next day shipping. So basically, I like the customer service from dell, what ticks me off is the fact that those a little higher up are taking so long to approve the replacement order. But overall, I am impressed

But it still dosn't change the fact I'm Wicked Pissah (yes I'm from boston)

    Wow,

I am sorry to hear about the loss. UPS has that happen alot, I have heard of a couple other people losing their laptops to UPS and having to get a replacement.

The approval has to come from higher up and Dell has to put in a claim to UPS to get the cost, which shouldn't affect your delivery time, but sometimes it does.

Hope this one goes better for you.

    Later.

the SAME thing happened to me! so i aleady have a replacement and it is suppose to ship today but the order status still says its in production so i have no idea if it will really ship on time. i have chatted with dell numerous time and they keep reassuring me that they do not know of any delays...but i pointed out that the orderstatus says that it hasn't even been built - they counter with the "it takes 48-72 hours for the website to be updated" even though it has been over a week and it has been on the same stage - anyways - it so fustrating to get a real dell representative on the phone and usually they aren't that much help either-

i dont want to cancel my order since i have the 1705 with the nvidia - sigh - i have heard that the nvidia cards might be delay until may 1st? can anyone comfirm this? i am pretty sure it makes sense since dell doesn't offer the card anymore - and i am pretty sure the chat/voice representative have no idea what is really going on...

    thanks in advance!
