ok well i went to check on my e1705's progress at the dell website and to my delight i saw that it had shipped so then i went to the ups website to check on the status of it and it says that it is "In Transit - On Time" but lower on the page it says

    NASHVILLE,
    TN, US 01/27/2007 10:22 A.M. ORIGIN SCAN
    US 01/27/2007 11:46 A.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

does this mean it has not shipped yet or that it has ?

It has shipped/ is in America now. (NOT MALAYSIA)

EDIT: to clarify, it's now in TN, but it has not shipped OUT of TN, it's sitting there right now.

All that means is that Dell has notified UPS of the shipment and Dell's already paid. UPS should still deliver by the expected date, however you probably will not see the initial "Departure Scan" until tomorrow.

If it hasn't started it's way 24 hours from now, then you should be concerned.

UPS doesn't do ground on sat and sun.

My laptop is in the very city of my residence, but because UPS is lazy, they won't do anything with it until monday.

Guys i am from India.I ordered my inspiron6400 on the 23rd Jan.The mode of payment was cheque. The sales manager asked to fax him the photocopy of the cheque.I did that and the order was placed. The dell site says, shipped on 24th jan, expected before 7th feb.Dell was supposed to send for a pickup of the cheque. They still haven done that. They have not given any UPS no for me to check where it is now. What do you guys read of this? I dont want the delivery to be delayed due to non pickup of cheque which is lying on my table from the 22nd!!!
