OK, here is the situation. I spilled about .5 oz. of water on the upper left portion of my E1505 keyboard. The moment I spilled the water on, nothing happend, the laptop still ran fine. I immediately shut it down by holding down the power button, took the battery out, and cleaned off as much of the water as I could.
What should I do now. Can I safely turn it on?

Leave it at least one day to dry completely and then try to turn it on you have to make sure that all the water is gone.
-
Leave it off for a while and try taking off the keyboard and check if there is anything that looks bad. You want to keep it off for all the liquid to evaporate and dry off, as any liquid matter will damage a functioning board.

I have a presentation 4th period, 4 hours from now. I need to do that presentation, and my teacher will not excuse me because of this. Can I turn it on?
What are the chances it won't turn on? -
leave it in the sun, if you can inside your car facing the sun. That should speed up the vaporization of the water.
Worst case scenario is there's still water in there, you turn it on, it short circuits :s, so yea you want to try and get that water gone! -

Try turning it over and resting it directly on the keyboard, assuming the screen folds all the way back. Look up the service manual on Dells site and remove the keyboard. The keyboard may be fried but it's easily repaired and not too expensive. Try ebay if you need a new keyboard. My M1210 has a plastic liner on the bottom of the keyboard that prevents liquid from going into the internal components. I would not leave it in direct sunlight in a car either, it can get hot enough to melt your laptop's plastic parts. I use a toughbook in my work car that gets so hot you can burn your hands touching it after sitting out in the sun.

just run a fan pointed it at, and that's it..it's the fastest way to dry, better yet use a hairdryer with no heat, you can hit it with air in all the holes and make sure it gets dry properly, with the sun, you're baking it, and who know how long it'll take to dry out, and what if there's no sun? and why put it in the car? someone might steal it..use the fan, or hairdyer. take the battery out, take the keyboard out, and run air all over the parts...
May the force be with you!
btw, take the power cord out, and ground yourself before touching anything! -

If theres liquid in it and you power it up, theres a good chance you will have a shiny expensive brick, the best course of action would be take it apart, let the PARTS dry for at least a day, the clean all the contacts and anything else that could corrode, then put her back together and fire her up. -
