    Hi

A friend of mine asked me to update his drivers and stuff for him. I downloaded the latest drivers from Dell website including the BIOS update. He was running Win7 Home Premium. He had A07 BIOS, while the latest available was A10. Now when I started installing this new BIOS, the whole system froze. No keyboard, mouse, touchpad, nothing. Even the power button wouldnt do anything no matter how long I held it down. The CPU fan started revving as if the processor was on fire! And on top of it all, the antivirus popped up that it detected some software is trying to access system files and stuff, and whether to let it go through or to stop it!

So now I am stuck in the middle of a BIOS flash, antivirus holding up the process, and I cant tell it to shut up and back off so that it could finish the update. I waited for a good while but it just wouldn't do anything. Eventually I had no option but to pull the battery and power to shut it down.

Now when I restarted it, its not loading the BIOS. It just beeps at regular intervals, and thats it. No screen, no error message, nothing.

So how can I fix this situation? Is there a way to recover the old BIOS or install the new one, whichever makes the computer work? Please do respond asap!

I don't think your BIOS can be reverted back, might have bricked your laptop. I would RMA it to Dell and see what they can do.
