I just check the status of my order via Dell's telephone order system and it has not changed from a "Pre-Production" stage to a "Build" stage. Hopefully it gets shipped sometime next week. I did order the LED display w/ camera, 8400 videocard, bluetooth and 6-cell battery. The order was placed at 8:30am June 26 via Dell SB.
-
NOT changed?
-
Hmm.. Mine says Pre-Production on the web, but I called the number and it says that it is in Build stage now.. But it ships 8/1, so that's not saying much. Mine was via EPP. But it's a 1420.
-
LOL... thats a different story.... a 1330 actually in production is BIG news.
-
The estimated ship dates are generally not accurate at all and they almost always come way early. Once the computer reaches the build stage, it means that all the parts required to assemble the computer is complete. This stage generally takes less than a day and then it will move on to the testing phase. building and testing usually take about 1 day before moving to the boxing stage. This takes 2 to 3 days because that is when your computer is being shipped from Malaysia to Nashville, Tn. Once it gets to the US, the shipping method will determine how fast you get the computer. I would not be surprised if you get you computer by Wednesday or Thursday next week.
-
They've been in production for a couple of days now...
-
I ordered mine with similar specs on the 27th. So hopefully if everything goes well I might see some progress tomorrow before the weekend.
-
That is what the article from Dell said, but I don't think I have heard any US orders that are actually in the build stage. The standard online order status page has shown my order as being "In-production" since the day I ordered it. However, the telephone system had it at the "Pre-production" stage this evening. When I checked it 30 minutes ago, it had change to the "Build" stage.
-
Well... we haven't seen anyone's m1330 in this forum go into "production" until recently (not pre-production).
-
What was your order date again? and est. shipping date?
-
I wish I had checked earlier, because i might have caught the in-production "Kitting" stage. I will report back tomorrow to see if it has moved to the "Testing" phase.
-
8:30am June 26 via Dell SB. Est shipping date of July 30.
-
I am in the build stage too.
I ordered on 6/29 and got the led screen. -
Hmmmmmmm... lucky. Hopefully it will go through the production phase in a day or two.
... then get to MINE!
-
Woot!!!! I'm a few days after you. Hopefully I go into BUILD tomorrow or early next week.
-
Yeah they finally started building them.
My estimated ship date is 7/31, but if it is already in the build stage i hope it gets sent sooner.
How long does the build stage usually last? -
Building and testing usually lasts for about a day. Then the boxing stage, which is actually Dell shipping the computer from Malaysia to Nashville, Tn takes 2 to 3 days.
-
I always wondered why it took so long to put something in a box during the "boxing" stage. lol
-
I wish they popped it on a Concord jet and get it here in two hours. LOL...
-
If only they can still get a concorde jet that is still in flying condition.
-
Couldn't the Airforce lend a few supersonic planes to Dell? LOL...
-
Still preproduction here. Ordered the morning of the 26th
-
Did you try calling? According to people, their online status isn't as accurate as the phone status.
-
I ordered 7/9 but its great to see the people in the front of the line start moving through production.
But this makes it even harder to wait now!:confused2: -
There's only a one day build time?! I've been building since the 10th...
-
I guess its because those desktop replacements are HUGE!
-
Yea... the model of the laptop is a factor.
-
anyone have a m1330 with 2.2GHZ or 2.4GHZ in the build stage? I just read in another thread that 2.2GHZ and 2.4GHZ are on hold due thermal issues.
-
Its ok, just keep telling yourselves size doesn't matter  But yea I assumed my lappy would make me a wait a tad bit longer, but not this long
-
Ordered 6/26
T7300
LED/VGA
Black
CD/DVD
120gb
2gb
N Wireless
BT
and......still in preproduction 7/13 9:40amcst -
even when you call on the phone?
-
doesn't seem like they're on hold (atleast on the ordering page -- the wait time doesn't increase). That info was obtained through a rep... so I don't know if its reliable. LOL
-
Yup, 1800-433-9014, and i work for Dell and internally its not moved at all. hmph.
-
I am in the same boat as you are. Ordered 6/26 and still in "pre-production" state.... T7300.
-
Can people who are NOT talking about the m1330 please not post in this thread. It is very confusing. I believe this is a thread about m1330s that are in the build stage. All these OT posts are giving out misleading info...
Glad we have at least one m1330 in build though
I ordered 6/27 and am in pre-production. -
Yeah we do not care about you puny Inspirons!
My M1330 is still in pre-production I also ordered on 6/27.
EDIT:
USA - California
M1330 - 1.5Ghz Processor
RED LED Screen + Camera
6-Cell Battery.
STATUS = Pre-Production - Est. Ship Date 8/1/07 -
Do you know why yours hasn't moved but people who ordered on 6/29 have moved? Thats very discouraging...
if you work for Dell, you should know a little more about your order? So I would think... -
LOL... now now... we're all in the same family.

I tired of my m1330 being in pre-production phase. I placed on June 28th and mine isn't being shipped to August 22.....
-
Inspirons are easy to make though! Everyone has them in build or shipped. The XPS m1330 is a work of art. Takes more time to build a masterpiece
-
i.e. The younger models want more attention then the older siblings.
-
That stinks. I guess a day makes a huge difference. Mine is 6/27 shipping August 1. I don't get how you could move 21 days back by ordering a day later. I think Dell doesn't have it together and all these orders are gonna get pushed way back (like the Lenovo fiasco).
If so, I'm canceling and going to the Sony store August 1 to get the new SZ that's coming out at the end of the month
.
-
I too placed my order on June 28th and it is still in pre-production. Estimated Shipping date isn't until 8/23.
-
That doesn't make much sense (although est. shipping dates haven't changed for most of us)... I ordered on 7/1 and my est. shipping date is 8/17!
-
All they are are two pieced of wood with a few rusty nails hammered through to hold them together. Then they have a pre-school kid paint the top.
P.S. Before anyone takes me seriously and starts flaming, I am kidding the Inspirons are great I am only KIDDING!
-
Yeah I think I made an Inspiron last night. I needed a paper weight
j/k
-
How can people who ordered after me have theres already in build stage with the same specs
-
I think the Dell blog guy is full of it. They are not going to change your estimated ship date until it changes status. Even then they may not bother. If they move your date forward then miss that date, then you are gonna complain even louder.
They will leave the est. dates at what they are and just build systems when they can. They had just better be building them in order by the date they were placed, and when the components become available. -
Did you get anything special on yours? I ordered on June 29th with a ship date of July 31 and I am already in the build stage.
-
New rule please people. When you post your order status, can you please include your country, and any delayed options you might have installed: Processor, Screen Type, Color, Camera, and battery.
Thanks I am going to edit my post now
