    Hi Guys,
I`m planning to buy a Mini 9 to use for e-mail and chat during a trip to Italy. I didn`t want to carry my regular laptop around. I need to know if Ubuntu is adequate for these minimal needs. I dont know anything about Ubuntu except it`s a little cheaper than Windows. The cost isn`t a big issue but if I can save a couple of bucks..why not? Thanks in advance for the help.

And for any programs you need check for compatibility or find a substitute before you buy, just in case there is something missing.

The only reason to get both is for dual-booting, given that the license given is OEM.
