This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    There have been reports recently that Dell had stopped offering extended warranties on their Ubuntu systems. This led several people to infer that Dell is not serious about Linux on their machines.

    Well, good new! It was apparently a computer glitch. Extended warranties on Ubuntu systems are going to come back soon. So says Lionel Menchaca, Digital Media Manager on the Direct2Dell blog:
