Newbie question:
Is the Ultrasharp WXGA+ and WUXGA 15.4" screens brighter then the standard WXGA or 14" XGA screen? I'm deciding on an Inspiron 6000 or Latitude D810 and this brightness info could sway my decision on whether or not I go for the Ultrasharp screens.
thanks,

I belive the UltraSharp refers to the higher resolution matte screen whereas the TruLifes are the glossy ones which are brighter.

As for relative brightness, according to the Dell-provided technical info on their site, the standard aspect ratio 14" and 15" screens are "typically" 150 cd/m2 (nits), and the 15.4" widescreens are 185 cd/m2 (nits), same as for the i700m's 12.2" screen. The brightest screen available is the 17" WXGA+ on the i9300 @ 200 cd/m2 (nits).
The viewing angle of the standard aspect ratio 14 and 15" screens is +/- 40%, the 15.4" screens @ +/- 65% (same as for the 17" screens on the i9300), the i700m is +/- 60%. -

Thanks all,
Apparaently the Fujitsu N3500 notebooks has a 300nits screen!! holy cow, I wonder what the battery life is like?
I know about the glossy/non glossy aspect...frankly, I prefer the glossy type. Too bad Dell does not offer them on the 15.4" screens. -
