Essentially, what the title says.
The detection is "iffy", sometimes the burning software will recognize the device, sometimes it doesn't.
At first, I thought it was due to the faulty freeware burning app I was using (Starburn), but then, I tried CDRWin (which is a solid app), and this time it gave me a pretty specific error message: "No supported CDROM recorder was found on the system!"
Now, the weird thing is, Window's built in burning "feature" still works (You know, if you drag some files onto an empty CD, on the left toolbar, it would say "Write these files to CD").
Now, I haven't fiddled around with the DVD+-RW drive's drivers at all (I checked Dell's site, and there's no firmware/driver update for my particular model, which is: 'HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T11N'), so I don't think it's the driver's fault (unless the default drivers themselves is broken :S).
If anyone knows how to fix this problem, or has encountered it before, please do post! Any help is much appreciated!
