    For my Dell Vostro 1500....

After wiping out the Vista Home Basic that comes with my Vostro 1500 and installing XP Pro, I have around 4.5GB of "UNALLOCATED" space. How can I re-allocated them back to the main partition?

    So I got:
    1) main partition of 107GB
    2) another partition of unallocated 2.0 GB
    3) another partition of unallocated 2.5 GB

    THanks in advance!

You'll need to use a partition manager

I'd recommend gnome partition manager (you can download it as a bootable CD ISO). I used it to setup my dv6519tx and was very impressed with its ease of use

You can allocate space with Vista's install CD. Insert the Vista CD before rebooting (make sure booting from CD first is enabled in the BIOS), click Install Vista, choose clean install, and follow through until you get to where you choose which drive you want. Then delete any partitions you don't want (the 2.5 and 2 GB ones), and use the expand option to allocate space to the main (C:\) drive. You'll now have 111.5 GB of space on C:\. After this is done, simply cancel the Vista installation, and that full amount of space should be visible in XP.
