Dell Inspiron Laptop with Windows Vista Basic
If I close the lid, the laptop seems to go to sleep and the power light starts blinking. When I open the lid, the laptop quickly wakes up. If I try the same thing after several hours, the laptop shuts down abruptly a few seconds after I open the lid before it wakes up (I hear the fan abrupty turn off). When I hit the power button, it takes a long time to boot up and the laptop asks if I want to boot up in safe mode because of an unexpected shutdown.
I've tried enabling and disabling hybrid sleep mode, makes no difference. I set the power setting for the hard drive not to turn off, the makes no difference either. If I chose to hibernate the laptop, it does so and restarts sucessfully. Anybody have any ideas. Thanks.
Unexpected Shutdown When Open Lid During Sleep Mode
